Dad's 65th birthday

Today is my Dad's birthday so everyone was down at my place. We had a lot of food. My nephew, Irfan brought his carom board...so the guys were playing that with an overload of noise...macam at gambling den gituk...ish ish...I played also...but sakitlah fingers...spoil my nails only..hahah..

Later on, Izzan and I were slogging in the kitchen as Mom decided to make roti kirai. And I don't know why but sejak kebelakangan ni, if it's roti kirai, I'll be the one to do the kirai-ing. Dah lipat-lipat (folding-folding), belum sempat nak letak kat dining table, dah hilanggg....so, it was like self-service uh. I got tired..and malas....so I just left the work to the maids..hahaha...bagus aku.

Anyway, after the cutting cake ceremony....Izzan and I went down to the court to play baddy. 15 minutes later, the whole gang (whom we affectionately called "the losers"..didn't start with me...started with my sis...hahah!) came down...minus my parents and auntie of course. So...we battled on the court.

Lotsa funny anecdotes. We only went up at 6.30pm....all sweaty and smelly....

I guess tomorrow will be a slower day for me...just relaxing...heheheh..

The newest hairstylist to hit town!

And that's referring to my dear niece, Izzan who is now equipped with the skills of straightening, perming and colouring hair as she underwent a community course with her mom several months back. I fetched her from her place at around 7.15pm and can't believe that it took barely 10 minutes. Usually, when my Dad drives, it feels longer than that.

She worked on my hair for 4-5 hours or so...sampai my sister tertidur while waiting for her turn (tho' I think she intended to sleep anyway!).

Izzan had her own personal assistants as well...hahah...Shafiq and Hazirah. Very helpful indeed those kids!

Anyway, those kids slept at around 11 while the two of us were still at it. And then, we got a bit hungry...and I refused to drive to King Albert so Izzan had to dial and re-dial McDelivery close to ten times..or perhaps more. At last, my sister woke up coz I reckon we were making too much noise...hahah...we reached McD at close to 2am. Came home...ate and talked till 4.30am.

In the end, we are all human.

I decided to use the wise words of the nice taxi driver who took us home. Sarah, I realized that we were talking a whole lotta shit at the top of our lungs that HE WASN'T EAVESDROPPING. We were merely, somehow or another, bringing him into our conversation. Even if he had mufflers, he wouldn't, for the love of God, be able to tune our voices out.

Priya, Sarah and I went to watch "the Westside Story" @ the Esplanade. Touching...especially the part when Tony and Maria pretended they were married. I would have preferred the girl who played Anita as the Maria instead. Maria had too much of an opera-ish voice. Moral of the story: You can't help who you love. Come to think of it, I heard that line from "Save the last dance" as well.

And so, this leads to the messy discussion of various dilemmas faced by two of the three Sagittarians (tho' the third one prefers to be known as a Cancerian now). I was practically choking on my food more than a couple of times thanx to the other two who couldn't stop making lewd remarks plus things that were totally out of this world. And of course, the most hilarious comment of the night came from Priya - "There's just something about him could mean that she's in love with a priest"...say whattt???! I don't know where you get all these conclusions from, Priya.

Anyway, we had a nice taxi driver....it was almost surreal. I've never thought that it would happen to me...y'know how sometimes in movies, the protagonist gets lessons in life from strangers. He had some good things to say. Either that or we were saying so much stupid shit in the taxi that our philosophy pales hugely in comparison to his.

Well...as I've said time and again to a few people, sometimes I wish we could all take more chances....easier said than done yes..However, we are still young and there's a lifetime ahead of us...when else can we take the leap right? Besides, isn't it part and parcel of life...the ups and the downs...the joy and the pain....?*sings* everybody hurts....(and I know the Uncle was laughing at me!). At the end of it, I guess we just need to help pull one another through. All I want is for us to be happy...haiii...Come on my dearies...let's ponder over this for a while before our next due course of action....tick tock...tick tock...tick tock...okay...I've decided to go with the flow on this one.

My other Sagittarians...do me proud. Yes...the two of you...who managed to repeat that "oh-so-blasphemous-and-to-be-avoided-in-front-of-me" crap (and I don't care how many ways you have of saying it!!). Now that I think about it, we received a few subtle stares which you guys seemed oblivious to...haha...actually, it's simply because I was mainly the one who attracted the stares with my choked laughter.

p/s Whatever it is, Sarah...whether you do something abt the nails or not, you're still not delivering my baby. What you said about "going with the flow yet knowing that whichever path this flow takes us, we need to be prepared" makes perfect sense amidst your constant injection of R(a) stuff. By the way, when can I see Mr C-unningham (*sings* these days are ours.....oh happy daysss)?

I shall leave y'all with part of the lyrics to my fav. song from the musical:

"We'll find a new way of living.....We'll find a way of forgiving.....Somewhere.....There's a place for us.....A time and place for us.....Hold my hand.....And we're halfway there.....Hold my hand.....And I'll take you there.....Somehow.....Someday.....Somewhere..."

Haiiii......

If I could, I would.

Cuma Tuhan je lah yang tahu isi hatiku....haiii....

And of course, my IceQuinn knows what my mind has been preoccupied with these past couple of days. Kenapalah my mind keeps going back to that fateful night when I first met that person...the way that person looked at me, the first qn that person asked me, the first time that person held my hands up to the last time I let go of that person's hands.....and blah blah blah...

I'm glad things are okay now. But the re-emergence of this person in my thoughts has brought back other memories as well...of other people whom I have pushed away and therefore, sacrificed. Haha! I.kill.

Why oh why is my heart feeling sooooo urrghhh...I don't know how to explain. I wanna take chances yet I don't know how to deal.

Arrrghhh...it's "I-miss-Perth" week...sorry, Di...I don't mean to make you sad but it's my turn to feel the pain...haha...so dramatic.

I'll leave y'all with my new-found phrase - "Practicality comes with less emotion but more reality"...figure it out. IceQuinn has another version tho'...later you remind me okay?

So yeah...if I could make things better, I would.

Ice-cream melts due to GLOBALIZATION

As I have mentioned to Sumi, there are two ways to interpret that sentence. It's either completely wrong or you find some linkage between global warming and globalization which then leads to why ice-cream is melting faster in humid Singapore.

Anyway peeps...don't rake your brains too much over this. Coz unless you were at the table when I was explaining it then it's not wise to analyze this. I guess only Farah, Sumi and myself can figure this out. But yeah...I told them that it would be my new entry's title...so there you have it!

Well....today's show was fabulous! "Burn the Floor" boasts of the world's top dancers from 15 different countries. I personally loved the American 50's Swing costumes and routines. Farah and I managed to shift to better seats once the show started and boy was I glad we did so coz we could see soooo much better...those hotties who shook their bon-bons...wow! And the ladies were sooo elegant...sooo on point with their dance moves!

After the show at Suntec, thought of dropping by the Diving exhibition but didn't have time...was late and plus there was an entry fee...tak payah sudahhh! But...anyone has anything to share on diving?

Went to meet Hayatul and Sumi at Sakae HMV after which Hayatul left the three of us to indulge in some serious ice-cream @ Swensens. Kesian Farah...tak dapat what she wanted...*pat pat*...next time maybe...hahahahhaha! Sumi....isn't that sticky chewy choc thingie your favourite now? Muahahahahha! At least I shared my "balls"! *winks*

Babygirl can drive

Title created by the QM and her dramatic story about how I'll always be the the baby of the group. Apparently, she doesn't see me doing something as responsible as 'driving'. Well...babygirl can drive. Oh yes I can. Haha. You are just so paranoid, Sumi. Lemme put a picture to show that paranoia. Okay...the picture is a bit dark...but yes...it depicts a nervous Sumi with her seatbelt on. A habit she has whenever she gets into a car. I know it's being law-abiding and all...but puhleaseee...Sumi...your middle name isn't "obedient"...so that bit abt how you respect the law and all won't do. Haha!

We had a good time at Sakae....downing sushi like nobody's biz. Check out the plates! Initially, Sumi and I had wanted to watch a show but it was too late...and besides, there wasn't "Inside Man" at Cine....went to the AppleCentre and saw this cute salesguy. Almost a drama there...I said ALMOST! Sebab semua takleh maintain kannnn?!

And then, we headed down to Marks & Spencer at Paragon to browse thru' some clothes...my mission was to make the two girls try some on so I can become the fashion consultant...
hahah..I managed to force them to do so...and I tried on this nice blue-beaded half-jacket thingie that costs $120...dah lah kain tak cukup...mahal pulak tu..ish ish..! I sneaked into Sumi's changing cubicle and found out how messy it was till I had nowhere to hang my bag!

Faizal had a "test" of the soft bra....now he knows how it feels like. Haha! Andddd....Sumi bought the perfume I laid my eyes on first! The Salvatore Ferragamo "Incanto"....tsk tsk....it's okay...don't need to feel so guilty. I'm only joking!

Well...the rest of the night was spent at Coffee Bean...what's new...same spot somemore...hahah...quite hilarious. I guess I'll be seeing more of you guys from now on, eye?
Have a good week y'all.
