Happy faces after the BEP concert....I must say though that the happiest has to be Mark...hahah

The after-party that rocked my world...!

The Black Eyed Peas concert was great...! Even though I couldn't jump around (coz of my bad left knee), I did enjoy myself. After that Veenz and I went to the after-party at Metro City. Well....what can I say....it was the best after-party that I have ever been to...*giggles*....
Sorry....can't disclose the details here...very shy ah...hehhehehe....but whatever it is....
*giggles*....damnnn....I really need to stop giggling....ah yes...whatever it is....One of my wishes came true. I seriously don't know how it happened but it did and I'm determined not to commit the same mistakes again. Thank you to those who prayed for me (Yes Di....it is very much appreciated....even though it sounds so wrong on so many different levels but what's important is that you talked to God...and you did it for me...that's very sweet of u!)....and thanx to the Perthians who shared my excitement and happiness....heheheh.....love ya!

I don't really care what people say...I don't really watch what they wanna do...

Sean Paul's words hit me like a brick last night...I realised that yeah....I don't even care what others do....I mean...come on...I've seen and heard enough. Many things come to light then....I've finally understood myself better...the way I treat those I meet, the way I respond to people, the way I project my feelings....It's true....I'm all about neutrality...I don't favour those who are better-looking than others and I don't judge you in a split second based on something you happen to do in front of my eyes...but I do choose who I wanna be around with based solely on my insticts...Basically, I don't layan just about anyone....esp. not in the clubs. Unfortunately, this also means that even if I like you/have a crush on you, you probably wouldn't know unless you're sharp enough to catch my oh-so-not-subtle actions....weird as it may sound...it's not in the way I treat you, it's the things I do for/with you..actions speak louder than words really...nevermind if you don't understand...only those who know me well enough will.

And so it was a productive night at Metro City......it only became productive after 3.30am mind you. Thank you, Audz...for doing such a sweet thing for me and for going back to him to say what you said. It was, beyond doubt, a show of pure understanding that has developed between us over the past 3 and 1/2 years. Nice side-stepper, isn't he? Finally understood what I was talking about last night? Hahahha.....he is indeed the guy-version of you. Need I say more?

The more I think about the end of this semester, the more I'm more certain that I have to stay back and "do my own thang" for a while before I start writing the conclusion to this story of mine. I get excited when I think about what I will be doing after exams....pack up, chill and just do stuff I haven't been able to do due to Uni. I reckon it will be a time for reflection and many hours dedicated to getting mentally and emotionally prepared for the next chapter of my life.

Until then....I have other things to worry about......random thoughts are aplenty as usual...

Saturday, September 24, 2005

Oh these random thoughts...

Okay....so it was my mood swing....ahhh.......so there's nothing to worry about apparently.

Losing is painful....

I've been thinking....yes I have....*surprise surprise*....why do people always assume that those who go overseas change....and almost always, they seem to think we would change into some screwed-up, impertinent, nose-high freaks? Really.....it's so untrue....not in my case...some changes are good and these are the changes I'm proud to harvest because I feel it has contributed to the person I've grown into today. But seriously, I'm still ME....with just a lil' bit more patience....and more maturity definitely. I love the same old things and of course, some new ones.....I swear by the same old principles.....If anything, my grip on life is so much stronger.

But what is bothering me is ....oh well...I'm just scared.....scared to face those who have changed so much that I am becoming uncomfortable around them....and these are the people who are in Singapore mind you..Actually, I don't even mean people....just one person....and she's so dear to me yet I feel I can't reach out to her anymore. I really feel like I've lost her....not totally but give it a bit more time and I would have. We have all promised one another that we will stay together....we promised to be real with one another.....we promised we would be there for one another and somehow, something has changed.....I just don't know for certain what has indeed been lost....our promises? ourselves? I don't know.....

One thing that I can still be absolutely certain about is that I'm still gonna be there....and I know THEY are doing just as much too.....but something's missing.....something that we have had for sooo long is slowly dying....and that's what I'm upset about....We've been so lucky thus far....has Lady Luck decided to stop shining down on us? Maybe it's because I've been away for so long that I don't see the emergence of some things.....they may have been gradual....but then again, I've only noticed it recently.....Maybe I'm just being paranoid....

I know that I, for one, have been very lucky...to have grown up with so many people who are still with me till today.....to have grown up in a household that will give me anything and everything......I also know things can't always be rosy all the time....Whatever it is, I'm holding on to the fact that we have pledged our continuing loyalty....the most recent is when we engraved the rings.....oh wait a minute.....She, whom I'm concerned about, is without it....hmmmm......

Actually.....I think it could be my mood swings that are affecting my thoughts as well...

Top 10 list of memorable things that happened to me in Sydney

10) Throwing my “QUARRTER POWNNNDER” into the bin..(like seriously…what’s new?! Reminded me of the time I accidentally threw away Jo’s bday pressies..in fact, now that I thought about it, I might have thrown away my purple scrunchy as well…hmmmm…). Only realised my mistake once I went into the house and digged my bag to find more rubbish (that should’ve been thrown away instead!).

9) Came home one evening and heard someone opening the gate. Thought it was Zeebs and as usual, I just HAD TO scare someone. Turned out to be her friend…and I had the shocked look instead.

8) The irresponsible intern left work after lunch because everything was done by then. Got an email from the supervisor saying he had set aside more work for me. Ooops!

7) Watching the Jap movie “Be with You” without understanding it (no…not talking about the subtitles or whatsoever, it was the plot I’m telling ya…darn complicated for a love story of such).

6) Whining in bed afterwards with psycho Zeebs. Couldn’t get over the email my APF supervisor sent to me. Ate love-letters and tried drinking water without getting up. Next day, woke up, sent another email to my APF supervisor and then went back to sleep. This is how I obtained the nick “slacker” from Zeebs.

5) Going shopping every day (during lunch and after work) and eating sushi every day too!

4) Bought a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts before meeting my friend. Had to bring the whole box to Women’s College. Stayed for the debate and it was just a bad, bad day to be carrying those doughnuts around!

3) Decided that I missed Perth too much, so I changed to an earlier flight just 3 days after I arrived in Sydney. It’s really hard leaving my 2nd home, having left my 1st home to begin with.

2) Jamil calling from Perth, asking for directions. Enough said.

1) The whole experience of flying to Sydney on my own, coming back to the city that left little impression on me 2 years ago and finding out better and greater things about it that will surely lure me back once again in future. To top it all, my mom said to me, “You are very brave” and I actually managed to contain my tears throughout the whole internship even though at times I felt so lost.

Ooooo….and finding out I had my own email add that goes RahaMohd@asiapacificforum.net was sooo cool! Yes…my name has been shortened again!

The surprise went well! Hhahahahahha......it was sooo hilarious hearing and seeing the reactions.

Surprise 1:
Me: Audz....guess what??!? *giggling non-stop*
Audz: Noooooooo......*in disbelief*

Surprise 2:
Me: Di!! Come to my room....now!
Silence.
Di: What do you mean?????!

And of course, in between, there were some jumping and screaming......i think the most psychotic dance i did was in front of Jmil's room....that was purely madness, as I jumped and chanted, "Surprise...surprise...."....hahahha...mannn....i need to rest properly....so tired....

Krispy Kreme doughnuts

Rest assured Perthians, I will bring back some delicacies home. I am personally not obsessed with doughnuts but since my friend, Adlin, has actually mentioned how good these particular ones are....i jus had to try them. I bought a dozen...and brought them to Darling Harbour where I met Adlin.

There was nothing wrong about me carrying the big box around until some time after I reached the Women's College to meet Yvonne. It was the grand finals for the debating teams. The Women's College and St Paul's had a debate about some 'fat tax' and yeah....basically, we were sitting in front....and there I was with this box. One of the speakers mentioned about Krispy Kreme.....the 3 of us couldn't contain our amusement of course....and so, before the next speaker came on, I pushed the box under the seat....felt a bit guilty...Hahahha......not a good time to be carrying these doughnuts around!

Anyway, had a good day catching up with people I haven't met for ages. From my meeting with Adlin and her guy, I realised once again how small the world is...and how my theory stands firm....that is, those in JCs/who were in JCs are all inter-connected somehow. You may not have realised it then but just wait till you meet up with some of your friends from other JCs and thennn......you'll find just how everyone knows everyone else. I never thought it'd be this way tho'....the circle is getting bigger really....Like I've said to Zeebs...there's no 6 degrees of separation anymore....!

Like seriously......u meet this person and u find out that he/she knows one of ur other friends....and on top of that, he/she knows your senior or junior....and the list goes on and on....hahahaha....I don't remember this happening in sec sch....

Well....I'll come up with top 10 list of memorable anecdotes...things that have happened to me in Sydney....I can't wait coz let me tell ya first..it's gonna be hilarious!

Still a Uni-student...like TOTALLY!

After working for a week, I realised that I am not particularly ready for the working life....well....at least not yet. I'm still in the mind of an undergrad (or grad)...gee...i sure am a confused student...The past few days of waking up early, catching the train, walking to Piccadilly Tower, sit down, do research, go for lunch, then go back to work, say bye to colleagues then walk around, get dinner, back to the train station, walk back home, wash-up, pray, TV, chill....mannnn....I am sooo not ready for this routine. It's damn tiring! Maybe it's because I haven't formed any sort of comfortable friendship with the rest. Everyone knows everyone else. I feel out of place and also at times, I feel like I'm intruding on their already solid circle. But of course, it is definitely a good experience for me.
As I was telling Zeebs, in the middle of our midnight snacks session on the bed (with love letters!), I think I would enjoy working at the APF...from what I gathered, the people are easy to work with, there are other people outside the Forum to meet and liaise with, the staff travels around the globe to different conferences and basically, they work for something they are passionate about - human rights. Sounds good to me. At this point of time, as an intern, I can't fully-capture the life of an APF staff because I don't do what they are doing.....Most of the time, I listen in to their conversations and I pretty much learn about the Forum by the things they talk about around me.
I don't think 2 weeks is enough for me to truly form a bond with the staff but it's certainly good for networking and collating resources for my thesis. So there you go.....a summary of my first week at the APF. And I miss Perth soooo much....have I mentioned this before? I think I have.

"If you have made mistakes, even serious ones, there is always another chance for you. What we call failure is not the falling down, but the staying down.."- Mary Pickford

p/s it's my parents' anniversary.....09/09....hmmm......there's a significance to 09/09/09...only Audz and Naz would know....hahah

Day 2

Today, I met Stephen, my other supervisor. He is soooo cute...hahha....like seriously......and Di, if you're reading this, guess who he looks like...?! hahahahhah....a certain Mr Las Vegas....hahahhah...I only realised that when I was walking towards the train station on my way home...hmmmm.....but he must think I'm psycho coz i cldn't stop smiling....my actions were never subtle to begin with....

I met the legal consultant, Jess......apparently, she's leaving as well. Kieren didn't come into office coz his son, Ryan, is sick..okay...so he's not gay....anyway, Stephen asked if I would like to go for the launch of UNDP or something tomorrow and of course I would go.....hehehhehe.....too many distractions at the moment.....geee.......oooo.....i don't know why but security on my level is pretty tight. I can only press the button '9' in the lift after scanning my card.....oooooOOoOO.....
hehehhe....

Oh nooo....I need to edit my thesis really badly......I did a bit of it just now in the office but i'm still not satisfied with it.....Roderic sent another long email.....haiiii.....and...oh yah....I got lost again after lunch.....I don't know why I keep going in the other direction. I bought a necklace today.....it's green and it looks like the one I saw at Accessorise in Claremont. Too bad it doesn't come with the earrings....

Anyway, hope everyone's okay back in my 2 homes.....hehehhe.....I've read ur email, Di....hahaha.....I think I was one of the first few victims of Nas'......she did the tarrot reading for me that night after the ball...hahahah...

Internship @ APF - Day 1

Yes...I'm in Sydney for the 2nd time...but this time round, it's not on a pure holiday. I have to work. Where? At the Asia Pacific Forum for National Human Rights Institutions. I was scared shitless before I left. When the plane touched down, I felt like returning back to Perth. Heyy...it's not easy leaving your second home. ..It's already bad enuff leaving HOME. I don't know why I put myself thru' these things actually....*shakes head*

Anyway, it is good to have Zeebs around....calmed my nerves to actually have someone familiar to talk to. She sent me to the train station this morning. I WOKE UP AT 7AM.....that's 5 am PERTH TIME....don't pray pray hor...! Wahlauuuu.....damnit....I couldn't believe it myself!

Everything went well...got lost for a bit but managed to find my way...thank gdness for the trip to Sydney 2 years ago! When I saw the building, I was quite impressed. I went to the reception area and found out that the HREOC is located in the same building....woahhh!

Met my female supervisor, Jake, who is also the Exec. Director of PCHR...sorry...using abbreviations here coz I need to hurry....if u don't know, just ask me. hahah....the Director for APF is quite cute I must say....his name is Kieren Fitzpatrick....hahahahhahahaha...ketawa besar....hahahhahah....even Jake thought he looked exceptional good today...He did indeed!

Anyway, he let me sit in during his meeting with this Commonwealth guy...Jo Ford...who is, for the record, quite cute too. I sure as hell hope that they never, ever stumble upon my blog..hahahah...what are the chances right? He's from Zimbabwe apparently....ahhh....funny story...Kieren treated us to coffee....and I was somehow in my own world for a while....when I finally came back to reality, what i heard was Jo saying, "You obviously did not hear that!"....and I just smiled...it was sooo stupid.....hahahah....bad intern...badddd intern...! But Kieren has already established the fact that the meeting was too much for me....

It was quite insightful tho'. They both were very frank with each other and I felt so privileged to have been given the chance to sit in and listen to all the "off-the-record" stuff...hahahha...

After work, I walked around the city....heck...I remember why I preferred Melb to Syd....they walk so damn fast...reminds me of SG....sooo damn kecoh.....but i'm getting used to it. It feels rather exciting to be walking around on my own.......doing my own thing.....people rushing around me and I'm just taking my own sweet time....ahhh...then when I came back home, Zeebs was still at work....I was once again reminded of my thesis....*arrrghhhh*

Okay peeps...will keep u guys updated!
