Deal with the drama...deal with me.

Does that sound like the bus to you?

I spent the whole day in the city (dan kawasan2 yang sewaktu dengannya) with Audz yesterday. We met at 11 am. Stopped by Lincraft to exchange the green yarn for the blue one instead. Oh yes..I've completed 3 scarfs!! Yayyy!! So after that, we went to have lunch at KFC before heading off to Harbour Town. I found this very interesting tee....i love it!!

After that, we went to the Immigration place at Fitzgerald St. Went back to the city to get tix for 'Dangerous Liaisons'. Stopped by a couple of places on the other side of the city which we seldom go and which we should explore more! Then, went down to Stirling Highway to get food...FOUND MY CASA GREEK YOGURT!! I swear it's the best kind of yogurt...you guys should try it....it's real milky..I'm licking my lips as I'm typing these. Gotta go eat some after this!

By the way, in relation to the title...I think we take the buses too often that now I can recognise the sounds of one without seeing it. Haha!

Friends

The one about Dusit Thai

It was a night of good food and much fun and laughter. St Cat's SCR members went for a scrumptious dinner at Dusit Thai. It was mainly seafood and the dishes reminded us of home. While waiting for the food to come, we (Singaporeans) were talking plans on a trip to KL while the Malaysians to Singapore. Let's see if this plan shall be materialised. Hahaha...We took lotsa pictures of the food which I shall upload soon.

The one about Audrey

So it was Audz' birthday last Friday. On Thursday, we went over to the Megalong house for dinner after which we went for Spunk (and no i wasn't bored...i was just sitting down looking at gay breakdancers) and then we headed down to Base. Obviously, I enjoyed myself at Base...hahahha...And then on Friday, we went for dinner at Jaws. Met Claude there. We had a rather engaging conversation on human rights. Thanx for the input guys...I now have more ideas for my dissertation.

The one about my Acer laptop

It did it again. There are more viruses in my laptop than ever before. So now I'm using a shared computer...I DON'T LIKE ITTTT....I HATE SHARINGGGG....ya hear that??! okay so that was a bit extreme...but still, I wantttt my laptop back!!

The one about Collaboration Night (and rabbits' hind legs)

Okay...so it was Collabo Night....meaning the Abo girls prepared some stuff. Dance performances were good....the food wasn't. I almost wanted to puke the emu meat out...Actually, I have no prob at all with exotic meat....but put more spices in will ya?!?!? I had to eat and drink sweet stuff for da rest of the night up to the last hour before I went to bed. We did so many stupid things last night. One example was when I blew a candle out and the whole table started singing me a birthday song. Helen came to set the record straight. Yah guys... so I played 7 stones instead of 5...beat that! Hah!

I can't wait for the semester to end so that I can continue with my dissertation at home, eating good food and being merrier. Can't wait to start dancing again. Ahhh....so many things to do, so little time...

Feel the love... Posted by Hello

Sailing the 7 seas on Friday the 13th.

IT came and went by really fast. Multicultural Night I mean. And yes, on the same night, we watched "IT". I almost fell asleep on the couch....wait...I think I did but Di pestered me to wake up.

Before MC night, we went to Martineuse (okay i can't remember how to spell it for nuts...anyway, it has always been known as "that French pastry shop") for some French delicacies and to give Claude her birthday pressies. Can't believe the water pipes burst in South Perth causing a massive traffic congestion. We were almost late for MC night. So anyway....it was like old times...we were all at MC night once again....that was my last. Audz stayed over and we woke up at around 1 so decided to have lunch in the city yesterday. Had a couple of encounters but not worth blogging about.

Anyway, came back at 5 and called Yasmin to go cycling as planned. Found out that my helmets were stolen. Pumped my bike up...it was sooo damn tiring! Thanx Yasmin for pumping up da back tyre as I had to go look for a helmet. Lynn's pump is sooo cute by the way! Yeah...so thought I would borrow Sara's. Knocked on her door and she was like, "Eh...masih kat sini?? Belum pergi lagik?" And so, she joined us. I had to venture down to the other side of Upper Whifeld to borrow Sha's helmet. It was such a fun cycle to the pirate ship...we took some pictures there and we unanimously agreed to cycle again. Looks like I won't be selling my bike anytime soon. I hope I won't lose my only customer at the moment - Yvonne. Hahah....speaking of which, I can't wait for our 11-course dinner at Dusit Thai.

Will upload pictures from the MC night.

I too, pray for the strength to endure what is to come.

Kingdom of Heaven - I like the way this movie has captured the true essence of unity...I love the idea that has been put forward relentlessly - the idea that everyone can live together peacefully despite the differences, in terms of religion and beliefs. However, at the end of it, we know it's a neverending fight.

Yes...so it ended well...with Balian and Saladin compromising. But we know that the Third Crusade came after that, causing more bloodshed.

To me, the movie was very touching. I was gonna shed a tear because I felt it was a true fight for peace. I wanted to cry as I realised the hardtimes they had to go through just coz of their different religions and this, my friends, is a war we've continued to fight up till today.

Maybe I'm too idealistic....and perhaps a tad too optimistic as well. But I feel...I feel for those who lost their loved ones to a cause that is hard to fathom simply because this same cause that is so pure and spiritual has caused too many broken lives.

I am not a person who would fight for that same cause because I don't think it is what God wants me to do. I know who I am and I don't care what people think about this religion I was born into. I am proud of my culture and heritage and I don't need to show or force everyone to think the same way I do. I believe in giving people the chance to prove me wrong, to redeem themselves so I will not judge before I know them or before I've seen what it is that they've done.

I'd rather slip away from the grasps of those who refuse to believe that people can change, that people's views can be altered through goodwill, not coersion. I also despise those who take my silence for defeat. My friends, I do not believe in propagandas. I think my set of principles gets more affirmed as I ponder on these things, without having to shout in detest. An exchange of ideas is healthy, but only if you leave your scepticism at the door and open your mind to accepting the many different opinions around you (and this shall not be mistaken as being subservient).

There is a reason why I am a "passive" human rights activist. I will not go out there to protest on the streets because it is not my style but that does not mean I do not care. I become all sensitive when it comes to religion and culture. I avoid debating on these things unless extremely necessary. So don't...don't come up to me to tell me that they are all at it again because I already know that but I do not want to become a bitter Muslim. I want to rise as the better WOMAN and while they criticise my religion/culture, I would keep on being strong and continue believing in what I've been taught to understand about my own religion. I do not go around mocking or condemning others and I will not tolerate others doing just that in front of me. I will talk to those who are sincere in learning more about where I came from and what my religion is about. It's all about amity, impartiality and tolerance.

Come on...if you don't give people a chance to prove to you that they can be perceptive, you'll never know that maybe one day, you'll be begging for a chance to prove them wrong too.

For those who keep thinking you know more than me just coz you open your mouth more than I do, I suggest you set the boundary and understand the true meaning of silence. I will not open my mouth just so it will make some noise, just to make my presence felt. I can do a lot more than that. Like I've mentioned a lot of times before, there is a difference between sharing your opinion and imposing it on others. Let's take the time to be fully aware of what we do or say. I have no time to debate/quarrel about something I don't feel I need to debate about. Some opinions matter, some don't. I've learnt that much. If I want to know more about my own religion, I'd ask those whom I'm sure know more than I do, not those who are still fumbling with it yet they feel they know enough to actually debate about it so often.

I have come to a point whereby I am comfortable with my own beliefs and I do not feel the need to question most of the things because I have truly understood what I have been taught all these years so do not question that. Maybe you haven't been enlightened...well then...TOUGH! I'm sick and tired of people who wanna make a stand yet they do not have what it takes to make a firm one. Sometimes, it's not even a battle between people of different religions, it's a battle amongst those of the same religion.

A long way I have come...from those days when I was still young and impressionable to this day when I'm more sure of who I am and definitely more confident of who I want to become. I always try to be a better person...but one thing that hasn't changed so far is that I have no patience especially for those who are disrespectful so do not incur my wrath because the day I speak just to bring you down is the day you know there will never be friendship between us. And you do not want that to happen now, do you?
