Never compare.

Oftentimes, we find it a habit to compare something to another. If it is a commodity we're talking about then I reckon it is logical and quite essential in fact.

However, if it is a person we're talking about...another human being....I think we need to be careful because when we try to compare between 2 or more people, it involves feelings.

Therefore, let's try to be a little bit diplomatic....be a little considerate and sensitive. Coz you'll never know when your words may bite you back in the ass.

Let's cook a lil' something....

Okay...these couple of weeks will be dedicated to perfecting my desserts and main dishes. I am quite confident of my brownie cheesecake...got some good reviews....gotta see about the rest....hahhaha!

Well.....Perthians...once you guys have gotten your letters and have started packing for Perth, looks like we gotta chill a bit more. And one of these days, as planned for quite some time now, you will have to venture to the West again....*winks* Till then, I'll just continue slaving away in the kitchen....no weird orders pls. Thank you.

Be the change that you want to see in the world.

Mohandas Gandhi said it right.

It's easy, isn't it? To think about the many changes you would want to see in others (or in yourself that is) but it is much harder to execute the plans for making those changes.
Therefore, I believe that one needs courage and strong will to make a change. Why? Because it takes a lot to rise up to the occasion...it takes a lot to go against the currents, to do something that defies conventions.

Changes are almost always met with disagreements on many sides. Why? Because people are afraid of changes as they think these changes may transform them into someone they are not. Or they are afraid that they may lose something that they are so familiar with if they embark on these changes. But the truth is that, if there has been much thought put into it, a change is probably one of the more worthwhile and most challenging things in life. It's much easier to do a routine. Don't you think so?

Basically, if you would like to see more tolerance in the world, it should start with you. If you wanna see more compassion, feel it in you first. Let's all try to do this together eh....make a change that we would like to see in the world.

Anyway, it's just something to think about.

Friday, the 13th

It wasn't so bad really. The sole of one of my sandals split...and the wooden "handles" of my bag broke. That's about as far as the freaky friday took me....what happened after that was a gathering of psycho girls who laughed and talked like they haven't met for 10 years! And told a pack of lies like nobody's business till I had a headache and know not anymore of who to believe. *Super liars i tell ya!!!*

So...at the end of the day, we managed to establish that Jo wasn't getting engaged and Rosh isn't going to do her Masters. Along the way, I learnt more on the Indian tradition of changing names after marriage and I found out where to get fried mars with ice-cream. And then, there was a mini-Superclub session for a while as the girls get acquainted with the latest R n B songs thru' my trusted Samsung. I don't know whether to run or to just stay put n pretend I don't know them as they start bobbing their heads and singing "We be burning" (esp. dedicated to Veenz..for NOT burning the house down!hahahha!).

It was a good gathering of the Cats' girls nonetheless and if all goes well, we'll be watching "Memoirs of a Geisha" this Thurs, aye? *stresssss* Thanx Nas for the book and sorry Di for once again picking up a book that was obviously not meant to be picked up at that moment...haha!

Another high school affair

There are no random acts

So says Mitch Albom. And I agree.

Anyway, let's not delve too much into that. I have a headache as it is....thanx to my beloved friends for interrogating and drilling me non-stop for most of the coffee session.

The best thing that came out of it is me basking in the undying love n support that they seem to have plenty of...for me. And a really wonderful feeling is when I realised the people sitting in front of me know me so well that I don't need to say much...just let them do the talking. It's amazing. I could just sit there for hours hearing about water, fire, dogs, sheep, cardinal (bet u are trying to guess what exactly we were going on and on about right?)....well...WE could have stayed longer...if we didn't have to respect our house rules...haha! Glad to know that some things really don't change....that the topic we were so engulfed in 10 years ago is still the topic we are very much familiar with.

I just cannot explain how much I love you guys for just being you....for being the same people I grew up with...for showing me that we could carry on forever....insyaallah...
