Maybe we have grown up...
Last night, after watching 300 (oooo...I so adore Gerard Butler and the movie of course but I am so pissed at that guy who "shhh" us..that's another story altogether), I had a good conversation with Sumi.
See....it wasn't until last night( after I'd swallowed my fifth sushi that is) that I realised we've mellowed down. I. have. mellowed.down. I did realise tho' a couple of weeks ago that I'm able to remain unfazed after being hit by the horrors that happen at work on pretty much a daily-basis. And how do I conclude this?
Coz after each day is over, I move on. I get into my car and speed off, leaving behind my worries for the day at the office. These days, I wake up every day feeling a little better that I've put the past behind me. I go about my daily routine/not-so-daily activities a little happier. However, knowing all of these surprisingly did not enlighten me one bit, not until last night.
I finally realised that I am no longer that person who gets upset at every single thing that doesn't go my way or feel soooo angry and wanna make a move at people who disregard my feelings. I.am.no.longer. an.easily.agitated.person. I just want to live my life...do the things I wanna do. I am happy with what I have achieved and I am contented with taking my own sweet time (that differs from person to person of course right?) ticking the things on my "to-do" list.
While we've...well...I've grown up....how about others? I am still hurt at the fact one of my very own has left the building and from the looks of it, ain't gonna be making another entrance anytime soon. Yes. Still am reeling a little over that coz you see, I'd never expected it to happen. This brings me to the next few questions.
Does that mean she hasn't grown up yet coz she's slowly throwing away a 10-year-old friendship? Is it not worth anything at all? Why is it that we've been going downhill ever since July 2005? How could she do this that very year before I came back to SG for good? These are questions that have been playing in my head...or should I say...were.
But I feel she's happier where she is at the moment so I'm gonna be happy for her too. So long, my friend...till you grow up...
